Big Buck Bunny HLS test

JavaScript is required to use HLS.js for HLS playback, sorry. Some versions of iOS and some Android browsers support HLS natively but I would need to manually put in a non-JS version of the player but that would only support one resolution. I think what should be done is to have the video player and the HLS.js stuff separate so the video player can be included in the noscript section or something, I don't know. In the "Downloads" section, there's a list of the resolutions of the video that you can download and watch in VLC or other players that can handle fragmented MP4 files, along with an ffmpeg command to defragment them if you need to.

Big Buck Bunny in HLS

I used this command to create the files from the 1080p .mov file after trimming it down in LosslessCut:

Note that I had to add a fourth copy of -map 0:v:0 -map 0:a:0 for the 1080p version. Using this command to transcode videos will require modification for each video according to resolution, aspect ratio, and frame rate.

For some reason, seeking the video a lot gives this in the Jekyll logs but I think it's fine:
